The route is dedicated to discover the origin of Ascoli Piceno<\/strong> with the visit of the Archeological Museum<\/strong> and the places linked to the presence of the Piceni population.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The itinerary starts with the visit of the Picena section<\/strong> in the Archeological Museum, full of finds. The Museum is houses in the noble Panichi Palace<\/strong> in one of the most important squares of the town, Arringo Square.<\/strong> The palace was built during the Renaissance period and it has an interesting architecture, embellished by inscriptions dating from the XVI century. In the Museum we\u2019ll discover the history of the Piceni population, the first settlements and the towns. The Museum houses very important finds: acorn rockets<\/strong>, male and feminine tombs<\/strong> with arms and jewelleries<\/strong> which reveal the Piceni\u2019s customs and rites. One of the most important find is the \u201cstele of Castignano\u201d,<\/strong> one of the most ancient example of script <\/strong>and\u00a0the Piceni big<\/strong>\u00a0rings<\/strong>, ritual symbols.<\/em><\/p>\n

The route continues with the visit of the town of Ascoli Piceno: from Arringo Square we\u2019ll reach Dino Angelini Street<\/strong> where you can admire the Roman Theater<\/strong>. The theater is located on the Annunziata Hill<\/strong>, the most highest point of the town, where the Piceni population founded Ascoli Piceno, according to tradition: we\u2019ll discover the use of this place for Piceni population and we\u2019ll tell anecdotes linked to the Roman Theater. The itinerary finishes in Romana Gateway<\/strong>: it is so called for the presence of the traces of the Roman fortifications of the town. We\u2019ll recreate the history of this place by Piceni population.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\t\t
