Arringo Square, Ascoli Piceno<\/p><\/div>\n

The route starts in Arringo Square<\/strong>,a medieval square where the joust of Quintana<\/strong> and the public assemblies<\/strong> were held; it was the centre of the political and relgious powers with the Arengo Palace<\/strong>, the Episcopate Building<\/strong> and the Cathedral<\/strong> dedicated to the Virgin Mary and S. Emidio<\/strong>, protector against the earthquakes. You can visit the crypt<\/strong> of the Cthedral where the relics of S. Emidio are conserved and the masterpiece of Ascoli Piceno<\/strong>, the polyptych of S. Emidio<\/strong> made by Carlo Crivelli<\/strong> in 1473<\/strong>. The route continues in the Baptistery of S. Johannes<\/strong>, one of the most interesting and beautiful examples of the Romanesque architecture<\/strong> in the middle of Italy: it was built in the XII century<\/strong>..you will deeply strike by its space, its dome..internally you can see three baptismal founts<\/strong>: one of them was realized during the V century<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are visiting\u00a0People Square<\/strong>, one of the most beautiful squares in Italy<\/strong>; it is considered similat to S. Marco Square, in Venice; in this space you can admire Meletti Caf\u00e8<\/strong> in Liberty style where you can drink the coffee corrected by anise, People’s Captains Palace<\/strong>, the Merchant’s Lodge<\/strong> and the Church of S. Francis<\/strong> with its unique portal.<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n

The route continues in the “Vegetables Square”<\/strong> where, still today, a curious market is held; not far from here you can admire Ventidio Basso Theater<\/strong> dedicated to the Ascolan commander of the Roman period: he established a friendship with Giulio Cesare<\/strong>. We are visiting the\u00a0“Women Square”<\/strong> where an important market was held during the medieval period. In this part of the town you can admire medieval towers and residences<\/strong>, Romanesque churches <\/strong>and rue..<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

From “Women Square” we are going to Cappuccina Gateway<\/strong>: it was built during the medieval period; here you can find the Roman bridge<\/strong>: it was built by Emperor Augusto<\/strong>, it is one of the most largest Roman bridge in Europe<\/strong>. You can visit inside it! A memorable experience! From the Roman bridge we are going to the medieval street where the battlements of the town were:here you can see a beautiful view of the Tronto river<\/strong>. Strolling along the medieval “rue” we are reaching\u00a0Soderini Street<\/strong> where you can admire the Langobard Palace.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\t\t
